Frequently Asked Questions

Are all your products gluten-free/coeliac-safe?

Yes! Every single item we bake is 100% gluten-free and safe for coeliacs, so you can enjoy with complete peace of mind. Our head baker is coeliac herself, so we understand!

How do you prevent cross-contamination?

Our head baker is coeliac herself, so we understand the importance of avoiding cross-contamination. We operate our bakery from a food trailer, which is a completely gluten-free environment. We also have robust policies and procedures in place to avoid cross-contamination, and we thoroughly train all our staff.

Do you also offer dairy-free and/or egg-free products?

Absolutely! We aim to always have a few dairy-free products available each week. This will be clearly communicated on our weekly changing menu. A lot of our products are naturally low in lactose, where the only dairy ingredient is butter (please ask). We also always usually have our ANZAC biscuits and our vegan double chocolate salted caramel cookies available, both of which are vegan, so don't contain any diary or eggs.

What about other allergens?

While we are very careful with avoiding any cross-contamination, our trailer kitchen is a very small space. We can therefore not guarantee the absence of traces of nuts, dairy or soy in our products. Especially soy is present in all our products containing chocolate, most of our dairy-free products, as well as in our non-stick baking spray. If you have an anaphylaxis-level allergy to anything, please talk to us to discuss your needs.

Where can I find your products in-person?

You can find us on Saturdays at the Cambridge Farmer’s Market (8am - 12pm) and on Sundays at the Hamilton Farmers' Market (also 8am - 12pm), where we bring a range of our gluten-free goodies, and where you can buy our popular fresh waffles with or without toppings.

Do you have a shop?

No. We sell our bakes at the Cambridge and Hamilton Farmers' Markets in the weekends, and we do cakes, cupcakes, cookies and catering to order. We operate our entire business from a food trailer that sits in our driveway. So no, we don't have a shop - although never say never... ;-)

Do you allow pick-ups during the week?

Because we bake our goodies for the weekend markets, we don't usually have a lot of finished items ready during the week. In saying that, shelf-stable items are usually available, and we quite often have waffle packs in the freezer. Feel free to flick us a message to discuss any options.

How can I stay up-to-date with your offerings?

We update our menu every week. Every Friday early evening, we put our updated menu online on Facebook and Instagram (both: @langslittlebakery). Feel free to message us to pre-order items, especially if you think you might not make it to the markets early, or if you're after items that typically sell out fast (such as our cinnamon rolls or our tiramisu brownie).

Can I order your baked goods to be shipped?

We're currently working on putting our online shop in place. Watch this space...

What’s the best way to store your baked goods?

Our products are best enjoyed fresh! However, you can store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 7 days, or refrigerate them for longer. Cupcakes keep 3-4 days in an airtight container in the fridge, and cakes keep 3-5 days in their box in the fridge. Our shelf-stable items have a best before date printed on their label, they usually keep 2-3 weeks.

Can I freeze your bakes?

Yes, some of our baked goods freeze well! These include our waffles, cookies, cupcakes, some tarts, and brownies/blondies. Just pop them in an airtight container, and they’ll keep for up to 3 months. When you’re ready, let them thaw at room temperature for that fresh-baked taste.

Do you offer custom cake orders?

Absolutely! We love creating custom cakes for special occasions. Just get in touch with us and ask about our cake guide, which has details on sizes/servings, flavours and decoration options. We recommend that you get in touch as early as possible (preferably at least a couple of weeks in advance), as especially some weekends tend to book out fast.

Do you offer catering?

We do! Please get in touch and ask for our catering guide. We offer a range of sweet and savoury fingerfood-type options.

What is your most popular item?

Great question! We have a range of particularly popular items: cinnamon rolls, tiramisu brownie (actually, anything tiramisu - tiramisu cheesecake, tiramisu cookie), custard slice, and, of course, our cookies, especially the ever-popular Nutella-stuffed cookie! Our most popular waffle currently is the maple syrup & cream waffle. And around Christmas time, our mini gingerbread houses are a bestseller.
